We begin our excursion by picking up passengers at their lodgings. We head towards the north of Ushuaia, joining the National Route N°3.
Once the hike begins, we will enter the trail through the Tierra Mayor Valley until we reach the Esmeralda Lagoon, which stands out for its colors from the melting glacier and where it will be possible to take a short break.
Leaving the vegetation limit at about 650 MTS approx. we will enter a mountain terrain with continuous slopes where the real physical demand begins, our guide will take us through the most pleasant trail known.
Walking among large and unstable rocks we will reach a natural terrace with a view of the Esmeralda Lagoon and the Sorondo mountain range, where we will observe Mount Olivia and its neighboring mountain 5 Hermanos. It is at this point when you have to look for the best pass on the mountain to ascend to the glacier. This section of the route is the most delicate, so our mountain guide always carries safety equipment.
Almost without predicting it, this immense sea of ice that is the glacier appears, with the Rhino Towers as sentinels at its back. Admired by this beauty, we will enjoy a hot lunch to rest and replenish our strength for the glacier transit.
The return trip is undertaken. At the end of the trek, passengers are dropped off at the same hotel where they were picked up.
